Precautions for using graphite electrodes

1. When loading furnace materials into the electric furnace, in order to reduce the impact of furnace material collapse on the electrodes, large blocks of materials should be placed near the bottom of the electric furnace. At the same time, be careful not to use non-conductive objects such as lime to accumulate a large amount directly below the electrodes, which may affect power supply or break the electrodes.

2. Attention should be paid to the position of the furnace cover. The furnace cover is skewed, and when the electrode rises or falls, it will rub against the furnace cover, damage or even break the electrode.

3. A set of connected electrodes should not be placed horizontally to avoid breakage.

4. When connecting the electrodes, if it is found that the connector bolt has fallen off, it is necessary to make up for the connector bolt before connecting and using it.

5. After connecting the electrodes, it is necessary to identify the cause of any gaps and eliminate them before use.

6. Electrodes should be used vertically to avoid tilting operations.

7. The correct connection position of electrodes and connectors (see Figure 10).

8. The position requirements of the electrode holder (see Figure 11) require it to be clamped outside the warning line of the top electrode.

Note: The gripper should not be clamped within the warning line or on the middle electrode, otherwise it may cause the electrode to break.

9. Due to the differences in raw materials and manufacturing processes used by various manufacturers, there are certain differences in the physical and chemical properties of electrodes and connectors. So in general, do not swap connectors and electrodes produced by different manufacturers in series during use.

10. For electric furnaces with high vibration, the method of using pins can also be used to prevent loosening and loosening.
